What vehicles can I drive with a PCV licence?
Most people seeking to earn a PCV licence will be working towards the Cat D, which allows you to drive buses and coaches with more than 16 passenger seats.
However, there are other licences you can earn depending on your specific needs and what you intend to drive:
- Cat D1 lets you drive minibuses up to 16 seats
- Cat D1+E lets you drive a minibus with a trailer attached (but the total weight cannot exceed 12000kg)
- Cat D+E lets you drive a minibus or a coach with a 750kg trailer attached

Is it difficult to earn a PCV licence?
